Back to Basics
It may shock you to know that you are better off ingesting a bottle of anti-dandruff shampoo than rinsing your hair with it. Your internal organs are better equipped to combat the harmful chemicals than your skin. It may also make you feel a little uncomfortable to learn that regularly using chemical hand sanitizers may actually increase your chances of disease. Those harsh little bottles contain ingredients that, sadly, kill the good bacteria along with bad. In reality, cortisone creams that claim to rid your skin of redness and stop itchiness and flaking can cause all of the same symptoms in the long run. The truth is, sensitive skin is often the result of over-using harsh products.
We live in a society that is constantly looking for a quick fix. However, wouldnât you rather invest in treatments that are gentle and safe, yet equally effective? By switching to natural, plant-based products trust me when I say, you are doing your body a favour.
Kinder options do exist.
Instead of cortisone look for products with beeswax and healing herbs as the base for a barrier cream.
If your skin is particularly sensitive, apply products with aloe vera and chamomile. These natural miracle-makers will gently eradicate redness and inflammation and heal and soothe itchy skin.
I urge you to skip those dreadful supermarket shampoos and try washing your skin with an olive oil-based wash.
You do have choices⌠and these choices promise to keep you healthy in the long run.
